So since everybody is doing it, it must be a good thing, right?


the hot topic in Illinois is FIeld Turf or like products. And coaches tell me the advantages or endless, from concerns about over-usage of grass, to weather concerns, to maintenance concerns. All those things are gone. The games look so nice, and the uniforms stay clean.

Or is that a bad thing? Is this real football? Do you care?

We know football should be played outdoors, but does it have to be on real grass?

Just like I would not want to play with the pads used in the 40's in favor of the new high tech pads used today. Field turf will eventually be on every field just by natural progression. I love grass but, most are starting to look pretty ragged about now and will continue to get worse through the rest of the season.
